Sixth Gen iPod
The word is out and probably you are tired reading about the same thing, but people are unlocking the iPhone to get the so long waited sixth gen. iPod. The cost, $600 +. I consider myself a tech person, I’ll love to have and widescreen iPod, but paying this much is not in my plans. On July 2, 2007 bloggers at www.tuaw.com posted on their site instructions on how to unlock your iPhone to and keep only the iPod + WiFi capabilities,
check out the complete story at http://tinyurl.com/yunhs7. Some other bloggers have explained how they have done the same thing only that they canceled their contract within the 30-day period that AT&T gives everyone to do so without paying any extra fees.

Another thing that people are talking a lot is applications for the iPhone, Rev2.org at www.rev2.org released a list of 25 applications that work with the iPhone. I think that within a month this list will easily grow ten
times, rumors site stated that the iPhone would soon be compatible with Microsoft Exchange. Killer feature for businessperson, check out the full story at http://tinyurl.com/ysqr7h. I firmly believe that applications for the iPhone will evolved greatly, the fact that this is an internet communication device paves the way to make more online/offline Internet apps that lets you work no matter where you are.
So far people are happy with the iPhone, it does what it suppose to do. The features work great, I pent some time with one at my local Apple store. It is a must-have but is somewhat pricey for now, maybe when it comes down on price or AT&T offer rebates on it. Well is time to talk about what is not so great about the iPhone, everything sums to the network; AT&T is making people go back and return the iPhone because they also needed a phone. Take this with you if you are buying one, if you need the phone, ask you neighbors, friends, or co-workers that have AT&T phones, if they are not happy with the service, neither will you.
Calls are clear, very good quality in fact. That is whenever you get signal, most people complain about lack of signal strength and that is a big problem. I had Cingular once and the only reason I switch to Verizon was the signal, not enough juice to start a call. They dare to advertise that they are the network with fewest drop calls, of course they are is you can’t even start one. I’ve never used an internet device over EDGE or any other service but most of the people that have recommends using your iPhone only with WiFi unless you are extremely patient. AT&T is saying that they are getting better, if you are not a businessperson then try it, wait to s
ee if they really better their service. If you depend on your phone, you may want to wait.

I wonder if Apple is going to ever release an open version of the phone, or choose another carrier. I’ll be happy to spend $600 for a phone with my existing Verizon account. However, I have to say that I’ve never try an internet phone with Verizon, I wonder if those Blackberries are good under the Verizon network. So, what is you take on this? Have you touch an iPhone yet? Do you want one? Share your thoughts with the community, thanks.
