Review: Bose SoundDock Portable Music System

Bose released the SoundDock Portable Digital Music System sometime ago and I feelBose SoundDock digital music system for iPod (Black) that it has been ignored. We all know that Bose create some of the most advance audio speakers on the market, it doesn’t only sound nice but the quality is often found above and beyond their counterparts. All these come with a price, Bose equipment is above the medium price found in the market for similar equipment.

On the previews version of the SoundDock there was many missing features that people feel the speakers should have, and for this reason it was often ignored and not selected as the preferred speakers for the iPod. I think all this has changed, the newly design SoundDock Portable has the best set of features you can find on any set of speakers for the iPod.

The first one is that its portable, it includes a rechargeable battery that it promises to last longer than other battery-operated speakers with rechargeable batteries. Not only that bBose® SoundDock Portable Battery - Blackut when you connect your iPod, even when running on batteries, it recharges your iPod while plays your favorite tunes. Wait, there’s more, I keep mentioning the iPod but the Bose SoundDock Portable is compatible with iPod touch and the iPhone.

On the outside it looks almost the same to its predecessor, the only difference is that it includes a handle to carry around when traveling. The dock where you connect your iPod/iPhone slides to hide when not in use. Talking about not in use, yes this time the SoundDock includes an Aux-In input to connect a portable CD player, other types of MP3 player, or even to be connected to your computer.

Some fancy features includes Ramping volume, Bose explains that it allows the system to reach the desire volume gradually when is first turned on. The remote control includes the simplicity that Bose fans are used to, and lastly the proprietary acoustic design allows you to enjoy your tunes almost anywhere. If you ask me, I wan this on my holidays shopping list.

There are still two minor problems with the unit, first if you have an iPhone you may want to set it up in Airplane Mode to minimize interference causing also you to miss important calls. The second one is the price, it goes for $399.00 USD, which even with the comfortable payment plan that Bose offers is kind of hard to swallow. That’s it, if you like this review vote for it on Digg, if you have questions or suggestion feel free to email me.
