Free QuickBooks Accounting Software

That’s right, you too can download a free copy of QuickBooks for Windows XP/Vista, sure is the simple start version of the software but for some people this is more than what you will ever need. I’m an accountant and I’ve used QuickBooks for three years now, before I was using Peachtree, which has it merits, but the compatibility of QuickBooks with other software is far better than its competitors.

The QuickBooks Simple Start Free edition is a very simple program to use, as soon as you download and launch it, you get a questionnaire, like a mini interview that helps you set up your company file. Once you are in, you get a very simple interface with a map-like interface that drives you via the everyday tasks that every business do on their everyday operations.

You can easily create invoices, organize clients and vendors, and prepare payments, which you can choose to print on your own or just record the payments you make with your checkbook. It also lets you print the most common accounting and tax reports you will need to prepare your taxes and know what is the current standing of your finances.

This free version allows you to upgrade anytime, depending on your needs and growth. You can also save an accountant backup copy, which is what accountants and tax people will need to verify your books and prepare your taxes. It integrates with many other solutions like, payroll, credit card processing, and even allows you to download your bank statements from the web directly into QuickBooks.

QuickBooks is the best solution for those who are looking for a simple way of managing their business without falling into the mistake of missing features with personal management software that try to give you small business functionality. Unfortunately the only downside to QuickBooks Starter Free edition is that is only available for PC, if you own a Mac you need either to look for other solutions or buy QuickBooks Pro 2007.

Feel free to email me for questions regarding this subject, I do bookkeeping for a living, also I do taxes and help other get organized in their everyday business needs.
